About us
The Original from Vienna
When it comes to our mugs, that’s actually a good thing for once. Hardly changed in over 50 years and as charming as ever. Anyone who holds one in their hands takes a little trip back in time – coffee & cake at grandma’s, 2.0.
Distinctive
To this day, we have our beautiful porcelain mugs printed in Austria.
What stands out is not only the lovely mug shape but also the delicate double gold rim and the playful gold decorations – just like the hand-painted originals before them.
How it all began
Until 1987, the mugs at 25 Naglergasse in Vienna were still hand-painted and personalized with names.
When the last porcelain painter retired and bathroom specialist Klomfar moved into the old china shop, it seemed like the mug story had come to an end.
But neither the new shop owner nor the residents of Naglergasse – including former mayor Helmut Zilk – were willing to part with their beloved mugs.
And that’s how the Viennese mug was born.
We love dialect
We love dialects and celebrate the creative wordplay they inspire.
And of course, especially the Viennese dialect.
